The cult of the Snake Goddess was prominent in Ancient Crete. Snakes were revered as protectors of the household, rebirth, and resurrection.

The snake goddess depicted here is an homage to my mother also named Ariadne. Elegant, proud, loving and a fierce protector of her home and family she is my hero. She is the embodiment of the ancient independent princess of mythology who defied tradition, made her own choices and followed her heart.
